This is a place to put things down.
Not a social network. Not a diary. Not a feed designed to keep you scrolling. Drift is a living ocean of anonymous thoughts. You drop one in. Someone else feels it. Nobody knows who you are. Nobody needs to.
There are no profiles. No followers. No likes. No algorithm deciding what you should see. Just the current. Just what people are carrying right now.
You arrive. You read what others have left behind. If something moves you, you can feel it. If you have something to say, you drop a thought into the current. You tag it with an emotion. You let it go.
Thoughts drift for 48 hours, then they dissolve. Like writing in the sand. The ocean remembers, even when the words are gone.
Every thought carries an emotion. Not a category. A feeling.
The ocean has boundaries. Content that could hurt people is held by the undertow before it reaches the current. Hate speech, threats, personal information, and spam never make it through.
But pain is not moderated. If you are struggling, the ocean will hold your words. And if it detects you might need someone to talk to, it will gently offer a hand. Not a wall.
Crisis support is always available through the glowing dot in the corner, or on our support page.
Drift will never show you an advert. We will never sell your data. We will never track you across the internet. We will never send you a push notification designed to pull you back.
You are not the product. You are a person with something to say. That is the only thing that matters here.
One person. A single mum in Lancashire who taught herself to code, built businesses from kitchen tables, and needed a place like this to exist. So she built it.
Drift was built because every platform wants more of you. More data. More time. More attention. This one just wants you to feel something, say something, and let it go.
The ocean is waiting.
